I'd like to think that when they finally got on the train, they all sat together.

She was HIS sister and her friend wanted to meet him but he was too persuaded by his buddies to act tough and non-chalant. But on the train, they finally locked eyes and well...... you know how that goes.
The fact that it's Platform 1 is indicative of a new beginning.
Of course, the Rolling Stone song "Waiting on a Friend" came to mind.
Watching girls go passing by
It aint the latest thing
I'm just standing in a doorway
I'm just trying to make some sense
Out of these girls go passing by
The tales they tell of men
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
Terrific use of dark shadow tones with plenty of midrange and highlighted ones to give it depth and character. The angle from which you shot it keeps some of the angles tilted, which you know I love since it makes the lines diagonal and not perfectly horizontal. Also the invisible line from the girls to the guys makes for some interesting geometry. Great story. I'm curious to see how other people view it. :~) Happy Saturday.
Aw, what a cute little love story :)
Isn't people watching just sooooo interesting? I can spend an entire day doing nothing but :D
"I think the one of the left is cute."
"Him? You're crazy, girl. But I like the one in the middle. Look at him -- no not now! Wait til I tell you."
Oh, and thanks for the suggestion you left on mine. I will look into it (but you see, EB White is like a God to me)
Yes, Judy, the invisible line between the two groups!
Our urgent desire to be wanted on one side of the fulcrum; on the other, our fear of rejection... so, like all creatures, we act out our mating drama in dance and ritual.
Without the rituals, civilization as we know it would stop and mass mating would occur. No, wait... that's the theme of the History Channel's next Armageddon program!
Ah, high school ... when it took zero effort for your chest to stick out further than your gut.
The guy on the left is telling the guy in the middle, "Tell your little brother there to pull his pants up. He looks like a fool and those two cute chicks on the bench are laughing at him."
You photograph teens better than anyone else. They look so good and, as the comments show, there is an amazing story in these photos.
HI folks,
Thanks for filling in the narrative! I love reading your impressions.
Judy, yet another great song reference!
Tash, thank you so much for such a nice compliment. I really love this age -- life is all spread out like a picnic.
Til tomorrow, everyone...
Such a sweet photo. You've perfectly captured the shyness and the swagger!
It's a novelist dream image. The stories to weave. Coy and cute.
