Madly in Love

The fact that these ridiculously dramatic, over-the-top pink trees bloom here in February is one of the reasons I could never -- not ever -- love a place as much as I love Southern California.

MAN!! That is some kind of special!! Like a popcorn tree spray painted with pink!!!

I feel the same way, Laurie! Whenever I see the trees bloom in winter I know that I live in paradise.

Can't tell from here, but that looks like a pink privet tree.

Puuuuurty!

They do grow elsewhere, most don't flower until a wee bit later though.

I'm pretty sure that's a Tabebuia impetiginosa - they sure are prolific!
