Posy Poesy

Okay, you guys know what a big ole goofball I am about Valentine's Day. So sue me, I'm a shameless romantic with a weakness for dramatic declarations and a soft spot for kitsch...

But grand gestures and Whitman Samplers aside, I think it's great to have an excuse to say I love you. Or I'm sorry. Or even just, hey, I wanted you to have these flowers.

Happy Valentine's Day, y'all.

Many years ago as a young man I once bought a bunch of red roses in Paris and gave one to every pretty girl I met whislt strolling through the city. Nothing at all wrong with gestures Laurie.

That's so pretty!!

Hubby and I always try to find new places to put our cards/gifts. Mine was in front of the coffee maker this morning. His was atop his charging smart phone.

I'm with you. I'll be wishing Happy Valentine's Day to everyone I meet today!! Gestures are the best.

I'm one of those goofballs and I am not afraid to admit it. I was thinking of all the beautiful love songs and the one that stood out is:

I took one look at you
That's all I meant to do
And then my heart stood still.

My lips could move and talk
My feet could walk and walk
And then my heart stood stiil.

Though not a single word was spoken
I would tell you knew
That unfelt clasp of hands
Told me so, well, you knew

I never lived at all
Until the thrill of
That moment when my heart
Stood still.....
