Spiffy Ride

And to think... before I moved to South Pas I used to go weeks and even months without seeing a vintage car.

I wonder how long I can keep up this trend?

LA, you must just love doing this to Stephane. So, I think you can keep it up.

I'm starting to believe this warrants an investigation...

WOW! A blue sky, palm trees, and a bright RED vintage Caddy! What could be better? Wait, I know... having all this in Southern California! Even better... having it in South Pas!

One question, though... why does just looking at this red Cadillac make me feel so happy?

Another! Goodness, are you sure South Pasadena is in the 21st century?

Look at all that space inside!

I've been waiting for you to photo this '51 Cadillac with the slightly lowered front end that's parked on Fremont and never moves. If you look closely you can see spider webs under the front bumper. It has the black on yellow California plates were used until about 1960. My grandfather used to have a black Caddie just like this one. Cool car.

I agree with CO. You're so bad.

Not just a Cadillac, a Red Cadillac.

In this post-Reaganomics life, the Red Cadillac mindset seems quite a bit more distant than it would have just a year ago.

What a find.

Great car and great photo ... I need to pay more attention as I drive around in South Pas ... where are all of these cool cars?

This is not fair! why all these cars are only in South Pasadena...and on top of that, when I do go there, I can't see a single one!

Who needs a vintage car show when all we have to do is visit your wonderful blog! You are lucky to keep discovering these beautiful old cars in your neighborhood!

this is an easy one, right there on Fremont. Check out the 65 Chevelle across the street from Marengo Elementary.

It was really fun to see Euclid Street completely lined with 1920s-era automobiles when some scenes from "Changeling" were filmed at City Hall and All Saints about a year ago.

I'm 1/3 owner of a 1906 Buick. I have to say, I don't seem like the type.

That car reminds me of a pair of saddle shoes.

Today I walked past the old city hall, the one with the 3 arches. The lettering above the arches says, "City of South Pasadena." I read it as "Glimpses of South Pasadena."

This might be the prettiest car I've ever seen.

This is the same car as in your photo from July 19, 2008!

That's quite a collection of marvellous vehicles. I was glad for the link since I missed a couple at the 1st showing like the pick-up and the 30's looking ones.

Leave it to Beaver (I mean Mr Earl) to remember a July post! Now there is a compliment.

PS my post was the butt of jokes today. thank you for starting the fun. it was all too funny.

July 19, 2008 was actually your first post!! I guess when it comes to red and white Caddies, what goes around comes around.

Hey kids,

Mister Earl, my first post was actually of the South Pasadena city limits sign. But you're right, I did post a red caddie shortly after that -- it was brought with a movie crew so maybe they rented it from the owner?

And may I say WOW you have a great memory! I didn't make the connection that this was the same car.

In fact, I have never noticed it on Fremont but Dbdubya and Anon pointed out that it is always parked there and, sure enough, it was there today. (Are you listening Stephane!?)

Thanks for being here, everybody. Until tomorrow...

I'm listening :) but by some magic, if I do go there, it'll be gone.
