Just add water...

The brief rain yesterday may have kept me from taking many pictures ... but it also provided a lovely opportunity to indulge into my inner lomographer. If you'll recall, this philosophy of photography began with a simple point and shoot Russian film camera, and the motto, "don't think, just shoot."

I didn't think. I just shot out of my car's sunroof. And I like the resulting poetry of those elegant wet palms peeking through raindrops.

That's a fantastic closeup of the new golf ball by Palm! You're a bit outta focus but, oh well. I think even Tiger Woods is considering playing with this new ball!

LA, I've heard a lot of PR about it lately. And, the news of it has even reached someone like you. Great marketing!

Lovely!

Man, you have some of the tallest palm trees ever!

This is such a gorgeous shot... It left me completely disoriented (I love that!) until you explained the perspective. From any angle, though, it works.

By the way, with regard to lomography... someone with an artist's eye still must review the results and recognize a beauty like this one when they see it!

I never thought of taking a photograph through the sun roof. This one is gorgeous!

GOSH, I thought I was looking at one of mine. %%%%%%% The diagonal line and soothing blues. YAY I LOVE IT.

Oh, that works for me.

No comment much lately. I've been buried under the results of driving my car through my kitchen wall via the attached garage. Only explanation is that my foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator. Oh, what a broken mess. Still waiting for workers to complete work on my kitchen. Can't find a thing. Hope better days are coming.

Meantime back to this wonderful shot through your sunroof. We are all hoping for rain that seems to evade us. Grass is still brown, leaves are still falling. Glad you are getting some rain. Will make your land even lovlier, flowers even brighter.

I feel for you. Are you keeping a hot plate and micro wave in the living room till the kitchens finished?

I fell into the Wikapeadia rabbit hole on the subject of Lomography. "Don't think, just shoot" A messed up Russian camera distributed by an Austrian company. All very interesting.

Very lovely. The rain came as such a nice surprise to me today. And now it's so bright and clear. Oh, happy.

"Don't think. Just shoot."

If this picture is the result of not thinking, I'm giving my brain a rest.

I know it works sometimes with writing and it definitely is the key to improv.

I think I'll try it in the kitchen. Don't think. Just cook.

Neat shot. Looks like a reflection.

This 'Don't ______. just ______' could be a fun game.

How about, 'Don't look. Just drive.'

I love cloudy grey skies, especially in the early morning after a rainy night. This image is so gorgeous...a wet sky, raindrops and skinny palms, beautiful blue tones, simple and direct.

Dixie Jane, waiting is hard, but before you know it you'll wake up one morning and will be making coffee in a beautiful new kitchen.

Wishing you the best. I can smell the coffee now!

I agree with all of the commenters so far (even the golfball reference).

I really like this one! Bravo.

Dixie Jane: I hope you did not drive into your kitchen because you were taking a photo of your garage ceiling through your sunroof as you were driving!

Awesome photo, Laurie, even if your driving habits continue to be suspect.

Of course, I would never ecen think to take a photo looking up though my sunroof ... and yet this is amazing! What an incredible perspective. Just promise you weren't driving when you took it!

...and the result is excellent, Laurie!!

There's nothing to worry about. After cautioning Laurie in the past about the hazards of taking photos while driving, she's assured me that she would never do anything so dangerous. I'm confident she was legally parked at the curb when she took this great photo.

Mister Earl,

I promise you I was not looking through the sunroof at the ceiling of my garage when I crashed into the wall moving it a foot and a half. I had come from the car wash and was warned that the driveway was slippery. After driving into that garage for half of my life I can only use soapy car wash suds as an excuse. Now I am paranoid. It's always somethin'.

Thanks for the kind words, Sumi Ko.

I had much rather be looking up at grey clouds and bent palm trees. A soothing picture.

Dear Pasadena Adjacent,

Thanks for thinking of me. I have access to the microwave and the stove. It's everything else that is a broken, cluttered mess. Look under the table for a spoon. But I have hopes for a completed repair job in the near future.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm still cracking up about Cafe Observer's golf ball comparison. I see it!

Oleg, you also made me chuckle. How about, don't work, just blog? No, that's too close to home... :-)

I appreciate all of the kind words today, people. And for the last time, I don't shoot pictures while driving! (Though I can't vouch for my mom... hee hee.)

My daughter has a cold and can't sleep, so I must wait to respond properly to everyone tomorrow. So, until tomorrow...

More indulging. This is just so abstract.
