Not content to live his bird life behaving in the expected parrot ways, perhaps this little fellow decided to actualize his inner bat. After all, this is Southern California. We can be true to ourselves here...

:) So I did see it right: he is hanging upside down. Well, why not. Those belly feathers need some sunlight too.
:) Just read your post on my blog - thank you, by the way for visiting. You are obviously a girl after my own heart. Although I did not say so, jumping in the puddles was exactly what I was thinking too :)
Well-spotted!
"Louis" is LOL!
When I visited last month I began to believe that the parrots were only a myth. Aparrotly (ahem) I came during a hot spell and they were laying low. It's nice to know that they are still around, right side up or upside down. Upon closer look a la your website offering, I found them to be quite beautiful. And romantic.
Inner bat. You made me laugh! Well spotted and well captured.
Maybe he indulged in some fermented berries and is just a little tipsy!
L, nice shot! Good observation. And nice narratives.
Fantastic job getting this guy. I like that it's just a parrot outline, yet it is so obviously a parrot.
Laurie, Inner bat indeed ;^). I'm convinced they learned it from the monkeys. There are wild flocks of parrots all over the west coast, and I think its only since the film about the ones in SF that people became aware of flocks in various areas. There was a whole colony of them in north west Berkeley during the 20years we lived there, and I remember some in Fullerton during college days. They are such long-lived birds and beautiful birds.

Perhaps he is trying to imitate a coconut.
