Settings: Part 19

Yesterday's post about filmmaking in South Pasadena made me realize it's been a while since we've played my favorite game...

If this were the setting for a scene in a movie, what would happen here?

The scene would be Altadena. This would be their City Hall. Bela Lugosi would be the mayor. It would be an Ed Wood movie.

Laurie, if my comment shows up, please delete it asap. I used a couple of questionable words.
My apologies.

Double "D": Even your name is questionable. :-)

Mr Earl,

I was hoping to fly under the radar, but obviously I've been found out. I'm going to have to change my blog name or go into protective custody.

Heh, at least they have a slipcover on their sofa. HAHA I like that weird house and just can't get over how much I love the sofa. Odd settings like this make me think and my imagination funs wild.

wv: gretas - maybe the name of a future restaurant to be built on this location in the year 2015.

There would be a conversation between an aging pothead and a hipster in a bowling shirt about the merits of White Castle burgers.

This is not a movie set...it is the lead story in the So Pas Review..."Property Owner Arrested for letting Charming House go to Ruin"

(front door opens and out comes punk kid Maddie with red and green spiked mohawk, plaid shirt.)

(voice from inside doorway)

MA: Maddie! Come back in here and take these bottles out to the curb.

MADDIE: Aw ma, ask daddy!

(door slam)

(door open and voice from inside screeches)

MA: And just where do you thank yer daddy is right now?

(Maddie looking down at the curb in front of the house)

MADDIE: Oh. He's right here.

Blair Witch. Revisited. Actually, this home, in conjunction with the snake trail going up to Monterey Hills, would be perfect locations for any horror movie.

Speaking of movies, they are shooting something in a beautiful Craftsman on Oak Street a few blocks from the Middle School. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on there?

They're filming a pilot for a new series, Alex.

Two 15-year-old runaways hide in this abandoned house by day... and at night, they sneak out to water the potted plants.

The new green shoots may be their downfall, since the neighbors will notice and wonder...

apparently the weather brought in a tornado to SoPas and set down a piece of "scrap" in our lovely town. Lord knows nothing like this would be allowed to continue to exist in pristine SoPas!

that's not a movie, that's a nightmare on Orange Grove Blvd!

For some reason I can picture this to be a sad scene, like a mother opens the door to a stranger who brings her bad news about her son who went to war. Something about all the contrasting bright colors would make it extra melancholy.
