Remember when I recently looked up through my sunroof and saw this? Well, yesterday I looked up again in the same spot. This time, there was no rain. In fact, I don't even think those are clouds. I think the air actually curdled in the intense heat.

Hot, hot, hot!
I'll pit our intense heat against yours. We both lose. Baking cakes in closed cars, frying eggs on sidewalks doesn't make us feel any better when we have to go outside. I feel sorry for the folks without air conditioning. Several people have died here from heat prostration. Hurry October!

I was at the Huntington again yesterday...and I do believe that curdled is the correct word...I certainly was curdling!!! Great shot Laurie...and Dixie Jane, I've never heard the saying "baking cakes in closed cars" how apropo!!! We definitely could have done that yesterday! We So Californians are such pansies when it comes to heat like this...it certainly knocks me out!!!

I'm with Dixie Jane. I'd rather be here then in Texas. No humidity, no air conditioner. Last night I saw the last of the sun setting. Beautiful
I kept waiting for the clouds to build up and unleash a brief thunderstorm to cool things off. It wasn't the heat so much as the Texas humidity all day long.
Good morning! The central US is having unseasonably cool weather! Chilly nights/lovely days with highs in the 70's ... rather than the norm... 110 in the shade! Keep cool!!!!!!!!!!

Well, number one you have a beautiful view through your sunroof. Number two it's a beautiful shot, number three, the birds are a nice touch.
I hate heat as much as the next person, but here in Michigan it's been very pleasant for the past few weeks. Nights in the 50's and daytime highs in the low to mid 70's. Uh, no I'm not rubbing it in. Really!

The sky is a wonderful fresh watercolor! It's a simple, bold image that I love. It may have been a hot day yesterday, but looking at this picture...not so, to me.

I just think it WAS raining, but it was SO hot it evaporated before it hit the ground.
gotta admit, would rather be in LA than TX in the heat because in CA, 15% humidity is a lot most of the time

We were out driving around yesterday when these great clouds started happening. I felt lile I was inside the photo on my blog called "Florentine Clouds". It was great. But I started feeling guilty because I didn't have my camera, so we came home. I didn't really get much by that time though.

Thanks for all of the kind words and cool comments. Who wants to swap hot weather stories? (R and Double D, you can just sit this one out...) For as much as I griped about June gloom, the past couple of days has made me feel a little nostalgic for the cooler temps. Plus, actual ants were in my pants today after sitting on the grass outside. Yes, I had ants in my pants. Is it fall yet?
