Best of Glimpses: #11

I haven't been able to capture a good photograph of this year's jacaranda explosion. Good thing I'm digging through my files this week! Here's a favorite from several years ago. I've always loved this dramatic diva of a tree. Read what I wrote about jacarandas here.

Yes, I'm still on a mental hiatus, phoning it in for a few more days and republishing some of my favorite past photos.

The explosion seems a little light this year, no?

BEAUTIFUL!

Our "explosion" has been rather blah this year. I suspect that the heat we're going to have today (100F+ in my neck of the woods) will blow just about any chance of more spectacularness of these lovely purple trees. I have enjoyed the few I have seen though and yours is just amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Definitely! It seems to be a light year for jacaranda blooms like Earl said. Wonder why?

I remember this from your Patch tree column! BTW, when are you going back to Patch? They could use your art and words!!!!!

I hope you're right, PA, because Earl is correct, so far blah. By comparison to previous years, I mean.

Laurie, I hope your hiatus is all you need it to be.
