The Most Melancholy Wisteria Vine in the Whole World

Sounds like a novel by Carson McCullers. Or maybe Flannery O'Connor. What do you guys think?

I would just say, Beautiful.

This certainly does have a mood to it. We had to dig up ours because it was so prolific and literally taking over our deck. If left to its own devices, wisteria is crazy strong and resilient.

My neighbor's wisteria is out of control this year!

I love your composition, especially how the two tall evergreens intersect the diagonal power lines. I thought surely Judy would beat me to this observation. ;o)

Shame about the power lines!

Not surprisngly, enlarging the photo increases the sense of melancholy.

I drive by this every time I venture down to South Pasadena and I love it! I can't really think of it as melancholy, although the sky in your photo does promote that mood. But when this vine is in full glorious flower against that Tuscan wall, it's about the most beautiful thing around!

I see the sense of melancholy as purple blooms bowing in tribute to the loss of violet-eyed Elizabeth Taylor.

Love the color of the vine against the orange of the Tuscan villa...that's Richard Tyler's place isn't it???

There's a house with a beautiful wisteria in the Oak Lawn area towards the end of the street...
