Behind the Window

A rocking chair, maybe. And a beat up Duncan Phyfe side table. (There might be a Blackberry on it, but it's turned off.) Maybe a little Debussy is playing, there is possibly a hint of something roasting with rosemary and garlic. Tea is a good idea, but wine is better. The stack of mail can wait, but someone needs to feed the cat.

Wonder if you slip back in time when you enter.

This is a fabulous story wrapped up in a single image. I love your take on it. What a beautiful gingerbread house with the roses and the old style lamp. I love everything about it. Oh I even see an old fashioned tv antennae in the upper left. Is that a bird alight on it?

Wow...this picture made me stop what I was doing, stop the texting and emails...I stared at this picture imagining I was there enjoying a simpler life. Thank you for this, truly beautiful

You are such a great storyteller. I really enjoy the way you say so much and create such a mood with just one picture and paragraph. This is wonderful.

I'm going to have to slap DB around.

Because I love this, and I want to sit on the window seat.

I have to admit...I chuckled when I read DB's contribution...but I'm with Hiker...I want to sit there and read, with a glass of wine (but no Debussy...maybe some Lorena Mckennit...)

Debussy reminds me of countless childhood hours spent on the piano bench. My bony kid butt hurts just thinking about it. So much for the fond memories of yesteryear, eh? ;o)

So lovely...

Judy, I think that thing on the roof is a weathervane. It tells the direction of the wind - well maybe a soft summer breeze would be more fitting.

Hey, wait a minute, KB. Chieftess doesn't want DB slapped around. If you want to slap someone around...

LET IT BE ME!

Good eye Shanna. I didn't think of a weather vane. You are right.

No Mrs. Bates in the basement for my interpretation, DW!!!! :P

wv: prono

Maybe there's a weird uncle in the back room who enjoys prono.

Actually not a cat but a Wheaton Terrier and some fancy chickens.

I've been inside> it's actually a Victorian "kit" house and the mistress of the manor is a woman named Cathy

Fancy chickens? Ones with rosemary and garlic or ones with backyard coops?

Thanks so much, everyone. And DB, Psycho? Honestly!!! :-)

Lovely. Reminds me of England. I really enjoy your writing as much as your photography. You are very talented!

backyard...she picked them up around the same time Martha started extolling the virtues of a backyard coop

Thanks, Betty!

PA, I love this house even more now.
