Scorched

What does 113 degrees feel like? Imagine if habanero peppers had their own town and decided to build a bonfire. No, that's not quite it. Okay, lets say you're blow drying your hair and suddenly you realize there is a button on the bottom of the hairdryer, a button you never noticed before that says "thermonuclear," and you decide to try it out.

Still not quite it.

Maybe all the menopausal scientists of the world decided to put their heads together and come up with an all-powerful secret weapon: the hot flash ray. Maybe hell is so crowded it decided to outsource to Southern California. Maybe the sun lost its glasses and is scooting closer to focus on things.

It's hot.

It's crazy hot.

The record-breaking heatwave is expected to continue today.

Brilliant answers to "how hot was it?"

"Maybe hell is so crowded it decided to outsource to Southern California." I like that line, many Tea party goers would agree with you.

so whose got a pool?

Well I'll be!

News of this heatwave hadn't filtered up to Vancouver yet.

We've had the 2nd wettest September on record.

Yeah, it didn't even cool down enough to go out on the deck at night.

My cat, Beau, thought he wanted to go outside...until I opened the front door. He then walked backwards in disbelief.

Glad the forecasters were wrong about today. I couldn't handle another day like yesterday.

We'll have to file that post on how hot it is in the time capsule for our record setting day. Great!

I LOVE the line about hell outsourcing! THAT explains it...tho I think adding the habaneros to that might help to define it.

Not quite 113 in my neck of the woods, but it was a toasty 104F in the backyard yesterday. The dog looked at me like I was pointing a flamethrower at her. The cat that sort of adopted the house didn't move a muscle when I neared---even for food he usually is long gone before I get within 10 feet. I swear I could hear the cat saying "yeah, go ahead, do what you will, I'm boiling from the inside with this coat, whatever you might so couldn't be worse than that!".

I just want to know where that cool weather has gone?

GOOD GRIEF!!!! I can relate but for you to have 113 and me to have 48 in 12 hours of each other with you being there and me being in Texas, there is just something very wrong with that.

I am cracking up over the Hot Flash Ray. Maybe that's the weapon of choice by the new super hero: Hormone Deficient Woman: she'll send you across the room at warp speed,at the drop of a hat with her slinging sweat.

@Judy 113 here. 48 there. Not to mention UCLA 34 Texas 12. Something is definitely out of whack.

Menopaus could perhaps be some sort of "a private tropical garden", as shown in this artistic shot!?? :)
We had +3C yesterday morning.... Fresh, bright and sunny where I am :)

Wouldn't you know it...I'm down in Glendale for one day, and it just happens to be 113deg!!!!

I have to say though...it still wasn't as hot as it was in Rome...temp 90's, humidity...about in the 90's...people were taking pictures of me spouting water rather than the Trevi Fountain!!!
