Overheard (Part 2)

"It's really a great view up there," he said. "We should climb over the fence."

He was young. High school, definitely. She looked older than he did, like most high school girls.

"How would you know?" She said. "Who have you been up here with?"

"Nobody. I mean, with some people. You know."

She knew.

And then they both knew I was listening.

(So I took this picture.)

Interesting, unusual shot of the water tower.

I just love your stories. That conversation could have been made almost any time within the last 50 years. I don't remember ever seeing that water tower.

Nice one!!

My grandson can see the water tower from our upstairs. He says, "God lives there."

That's the Billicke Tower, one of South Pasadena's iconic symbols. It was repainted about 8 years ago and still looks nice. It can be seen from the 210 Freeway. It's one of two elevated water towers in town. The other one is like the ugly stepchild - in need of paint and renovation. The other tower is on the nort side of Raymond Hill, above the Raymond restaurant.

I just wanted to thank you for making this blog. I grew up in SoPas and I miss it there so much! I look forward to your blog everyday just as a reminder of where I am from! My Dad is the owner of Ben's Barber shop next door to OSH. I don't think he would ever want to re-located due to the ambiance of the city and its people. Keep of the great job of doing this blog!
