Maybe...

...the conversation went something like this:

"I finally finished it honey," he said, "I built your dream house."

"No!" She cried, "I said I wanted a house surrounded by orange trees, not an orange house surrounded by trees!"

It almost looks in miniature from this perspective. I find it quaint and charming. How big is it really? Or does this relate to yesterday's idea of how long is long? In this case, how big is big? How small is small? It's all relative.

Haha, we live in the midst of orange orchards. At this time, of year, I'd trade for just trees - right now the orange aroma is sweet-sickly, the allergies/sneezing sky high.

"Oh, love, you read my mind!"

Well at least this doesn't make me think of Gatsby, so you'll be spared a quote.

An orange tree house. Clever. I used to have a tree house amidst the orange, grapefruit, and lime trees for my kids. But I've never seen an orange house in the trees like this one. Nice find, Laurie.

LOL! don't laugh, that may be what happened!

I particularly like the cord running across the roof, then down the side of the house...yes, we have cable TV...pulled in from the neighbors house!

looks like a couple of houses on the side of the hill in the Altos.

also looks like the orange trim the folks who bought the house next to my father's house painted it years ago...looked like a 50-50 bar. this, is worse, I think.

but what amazes me most about this photo is that large window on our right...it looks like someone stuck it half way between 2 floors...your feet can look out if you're on the upper floor, but you'll need a ladder to see out of it from the middle floor. Gawd help you to try to wash the window!

wv: blent...I blent the bright white and the deep umber paint and came up with this tangerine color for ya darlin!

It could be an Art Center frat house. The color is their iconic orange, spot-on.

Thanks, everyone!

Welcome Above the City!

I can't remember exactly where I saw this house when I was winding around Monterey Hills. Isn't it great?

Until tomorrow...
