Design Elements

South Pasadena is known for its classic homes -- from Craftsman to Victorian -- but it also has its fair share of modern architecture. Like here, for example. I can't quite see the house, but every time I pass this driveway I look to see if the fountain is working. So far? Not working.

Oh well, sometimes form trumps function.

The cascading shrubbery softens and makes the whole idea a bit less linear. What I find most interesting are the muted shades of yellow, sand and gray. What building is this?

I LOVE contemporary architecture... but LA, I think you may have spoiled me with all of your magical shots of Craftsman and Victorian homes. This one looks like all its magic drained away years ago. I think I'd rather live inside those pink bushes in your recent post than here.

Form, fit, & function... the mantra of every engineer's task. Two out of three?

I did a little photography around the moderns recently and had some woman in a pink pant suit start running after my car. I may post that video.
