Settings: Part 20

I'll admit this one is a little unusual for my favorite game, but indulge me a bit and play along. Tell me, dear readers ... if this happened to be the location for a scene in a movie, what would happen here?

Renegade members of the Board of Supervisors have gained the loyalty of a group of rogue police officers. Under the guise of conducting a drunk-driver checkpoint, they pull Earl and Laurie out of their car at gunpoint. They handcuff them and put them in the back of a white, unmarked van.

Cut to the next morning as relatives and friends of Earl and Laurie realize they are missing.

All I know is, George Clooney is involved.

George Clooney plays Mr. Earl, Judy. He has makeup on so no one will notice that he's not as adorable as the real Mr. Earl.

WV: dorms as in, dorms.

i don't have any ideas for screenplays at the moment, but in south pasadena, such a sign usually indicates either 1) there is sidewalk pothole patching going on 2) a film crew is shooting the next feature film or commercial up ahead, so stop and take a looksee!

As opposed to, "Go," how do you get prepared to, "Stop?" "On your mark, get ready, stop!"

The film is set in Tater, VA. Upstanding citizens Earl (played by Clooney) and Laurie (played by Jessica Biel) are whisked away at the checkpoint by rogue police officers. Unarmed, Clooney and Biel (in Oscar-nominated performances) save the town of Tater when they escape via underground tunnels Laurie (Biel) discovered on a photo safari.

I think "Tater, VA" is a good name for a film. It sounds like something that would be directed by John Sayles.

And Little Bit could play the Tater Tot.

You may be seeing it soon, Chieftess. Hint: Tater is code for a certain town near downtown LA. I think Jimmy Smits might be playing the bad guy. Think LA Law.

Susan C wins.

My, what vivid imaginations you all have!

Thanks, everyone. Til tomorrow...

It's the very end of a very realistic movie in which mother nature has run out of subtler signs that were too often up for interpretation...
