Juxtaposition

When does it happen? When do we stop skipping through life and start muddling through it? I had forgotten about this summer shot from the Farmers Market but I remember exactly why I grabbed my camera at that moment. This image is a good reminder. So often I'm exactly like the serious woman ... but I need to be more like the carefree little boy. (Don't we all?)

I have been there: "Oh me, oh my!" And, "Zippity Do Da." If life would only give us more, "Zippity Do Da Days." Or if we had the ability to create them. Maybe we do and we just don't know it.

Resolved for 2010: To spend five minutes of every day doing something silly, ignoring the dishes in the sink and the projects on the computer.

Wait... why no 10 minutes? Why not 15?

I'm with you Pat. I had that moment already today. I had a 70 and 50 pound dog come bounding up onto our bed and I couldn't stop laughing because the younger smaller dog was singing to me while the cat (also upon our bed) just looked off into the distance, totally indifferent to the whole situation.

I love how the lines of the woman and the boy meet in an inverted V. I like how she is coming into the shot, and he is running away. Maybe that says something about the fact that we are more apt to be going away than coming forward. On some level, it is symbolic.

I want everybody to do what Yak suggested. 5 minutes is really a long time when you think about it, yet again, it is fleeting.

Be happy. Skip. Jump and most of all LAUGH!

This is beautiful in mono Laurie, you do it so well. And yes it so great to be so carefree, free of cares. LOL. Have a wonderful Sunday to you. Thanks for the visit and am adding you on my list. BTW, my archive is still not that much, I just started in Dec.

Boy , that's the truth.
One thought, I hope she's not looking like
that because she can't find her carefree
little child. Happy New Year Laurie.

I love the expressive movement of the figures in this and also the feelings expressed in their gestures.

There is also an almost spiral movement over the picture plane.

Great shot!

i could tell how much efforts you've taken on it.

You said that right for sure. Having little kids in your life serves as a great reminder to let go of the serious and be a little silly every once in a while.

a summer shot is perfect for today's higher temperatures:) the serious woman is probably dabbing her forehead from the heat.

Hi everybody,

Welcome Guitar Ensemble and Twin Mom!

I'm particularly fond of this shot, and I'm glad I rediscovered it while combing through files trying to find another image. I never found the other one I was looking for. I think my 2010 resolution should be to come up with a better filing system for pictures.

Thanks for all of the lovely comments, all. Until tomorrow...
