Maybe he really likes carrots...

I'm not sure what this guy is supposed to be, but I have some ideas:

The spirit of a jack o lantern? The black sheep of the Blue Man Group? A tequila sunrise? At any rate, he sure brightened up the corner of Fremont and Lyndon yesterday.

So, dear readers, what are you dressing up as this Halloween?

LOL! I think he ate too much pumpkin pie.

That's surreal. Almost looks like he was photoshopped into the shot!

Hello to the ORANGE MAN!

I dressed up in my Swedish folk fiddling outfit and someone at this week's Halloween party asked me, "Is that a yodeling costume?!" For some people, it's easy to confuse Sweden with Switzerland. C'est la vie!

Your costume?!

This is so cool. I'm dressing up as a tour guide today and am off to the Huntington.

I want to lick him.
I'm wearing a black trash bag with a two strip of yellow tape going down the center and a beany baby pinned to the side.

Do you remember an old ad for some obscure product, "Wonder where the yellow went?" Well, we know now.

As for me, I have a hobo costume (a la Judy Garland in one of her numbers, complete with top hat), a belly dancing costume,(complete with bare belly) and a floozy costume with a black feather boa. Take your pick. But I guess I won't get dressed up with no place to go. Aw!

Y'all have fun, eat lotsa candy, brush and floss, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

After all these years, Orange Julius finally makes an appearance! I've always wondered what he looked like. Since he's been around so long, I figured he would look older.

Orange Julius! Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Orange Julius ... brilliant!

Yakpate said...

You fools! He is Tang from the plant Kemo, disguised as a test dummy! His Area 54 handlers are leading him to the secret headquarters where a space launch will be conducted at the height of tonight's Halloween festivities.

Come on, dbdubya... you know more than you're telling us!

Orange Julius!!!!!!

Gold star to DB for that. Hilarious!

He's creepy!!!! I would freak out if I saw that guy on the street.

Hmmmmm....sounds like classic conspiracy theory to me...community leaders explain the presence of the orange man as the long lost Mr. Orange Julius. Many of us may remember the quaint Orange Julius stands which were purported to be Mr. Julius' livelihood...but do any of us really remember Mr. Julius himself??? And just how long has it been since any of us have actually seen an Orange Julius stand??? Could it be that our community leaders are actually covering up the existence of Tang from Kemo??? Is this possibly the start of another War of the Worlds???

I've given it considerable consideration, Yak, and am going to stick with the belief that we're seeing the emergence of the Great Orange Julius.

I became a fan of the Julius when a kid. I used to walk by one each day coming home from Richardson D. White Elementary school and would occasionally stop for one. It was a very small, narrow place with a counter and a few small tables. Jerry owned it and all that was served was burgers, hot dogs, sodas and Orange Julius. A few years later I saw the sign had been changed to "Jerry's Orange-O." I stopped and Jerry said he'd figured out the "secret ingredients" and didn't want to pay a franchise fee any longer. Jerry was a great guy who always supported youth sports teams. It was like a sports bar without the alcohol. He had loyal customers who started going there as kids in the late 50's and kept going back until Jerry finally retired about 5 years ago.

WV: gasera - the effect one got after eating a Jerry's chili dog washed down with an Orange-O.

Black sheep of the Blue Man Group. Good one. This is what I love about Halloween--people can wear their alter egos in public.

On H'ween, my mother used to make cooked carrots or brussels sprouts, or both---knowing full well if I didn't eat my dinner, I was not going to get to go out for H'ween. And now, I wish my mother were still around to realize that if you eat TOO MANY carrots, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS!;-) Tho I do like the Orange Julius concept...about time for another "messiah" to appear.

as for me, I'm going to toss candy at kids dressed as a geek, my usual fare...it isn't too big a stretch for me.

Halloween? Gonna stay inside with some college friends/cousins tonite. We gotta BIG football game to watch which could determine what we do on the 1st week of the new yr. Then, we'll catch the leftover of the World Series.

So, we're either gonna bee in a happy party mood afterward, or feel spooked & stressed-out. Trick or Treat? I dunno...

I coulda had a V8.....wait.....I had too many!

I"m just amazed at this one L. Is he real??? Great shot.

And my costume? It was on my blog earlier. Think French ( of course) and a cute, flirty maid's attire! I have a pink feather duster too! :)

Laurie Allee said...

V, you will ROCK that maid's outfit!

Just had our first trick-or-treaters of the night. And I've personally already eaten 9 pieces of candy. I think I'm going to switch to wine!

Laurie Allee said...

Hey, Cafe, is it the UT/OU game?

dbdubya said...

Wine is much better for you than candy. Stick with the wine for the evening.

Great USC-Oregon game tonight. Almost halftime. Oregon's up by a TD but they've been trading scores all night.

Mister Earl said...

Dixie Jane: It was Pepsodent Toothpaste. Not too obscure.

The guy must by from Syracuse. DBW will get that one.

Laurie Allee said...

Thanks, everyone!

We had a zillion trick or treaters again this year, but I was prepared with enough candy. Hope everyone had a great Halloween. I'll catch up with all of you tomorrow.

BTW... welcome, Leif!

LA, those two weren't even playing last nite.
For that matter, my team didn't look like they played either - anything but a "great" game.

dbdubya said...

Mine didn't show up either, Cafe, especially in the second half. Thay played like a bunch of dogs, no offense intended. I suspect we were watching the same game.

Lol, there were many guys dressed up in that costume for a video contest. It was a contest that had you film the best video about a person asking someone to winter formal and this group won second place :D

Nonono you got it all wrong.

It's the little orange guy from googlemaps!

:D
