Sweet Nothings

Romance was literally in the air when I recently captured this sunset image. Can't you see it there, dusting the sky and mountains with a sentimental shade of pink?

It begs for a proper love poem:

i love you much(most beautiful darling)

more than anyone on the earth and i
like you better than everything in the sky

-sunlight and singing welcome your coming

although winter may be everywhere
with such a silence and such a darkness
noone can quite begin to guess

(except my life)the true time of year-

and if what calls itself a world should have
the luck to hear such singing(or glimpse such
sunlight as will leap higher than high
through gayer than gayest someone's heart at your each

nearness)everyone certainly would(my
most beautiful darling)believe in nothing but love

WOW - no comment I make can top that poem.

Beautiful image - subtle and indeed sweet. Love the pinks and lavenders.

This does beg for a love poem:

In my sky at twilight you are a cloud
and your form and colour are the way I love them.
You are mine, mine, woman with sweet lips
and in your life my infinite dreams live.

The lamp of my soul dyes your feet.
My sour wine is sweeter on your lips,
oh reaper of my evening song,
how solitary dreams believe you to be mine!

You are mine, mine, I go shouting it to the afternoon's
wind, and the wind hauls on my widowed voice.
Huntress of the depths of my eyes, your plunder
stills your nocturnal regard as though it were water.

You are taken in the net of my music, my love,
and my nets of music are wide as the sky.
My soul is born on the shore of your eyes of mourning.
In your eyes of mourning the land of dreams begins.

THANK YOU Laurie, for yet another amazing image. You are the only creature I know who combines the best and most magical qualities of the Muse, and the Artist.

The photo is delicious. I can taste it. I'm so glad you posted a poem today; I linked to you for that reason not knowing for sure if you would.

Just beautiful Laurie!

Nothing else needs to be said.

Actually, I thought at first that I had clicked on the wrong thing (!) I just happened to have taken a shot recently that I call Pink Mist. Mine doesn't come with great poetry though.

Yes we can see it but only through your eyes, as always. You are very much alive and with the heart in the right place at the right time… Wow to you Laurie.
Sometimes I feel like a vampire feeding on all the beauty you bring to all of us. Very interesting…

Oh, oh, oh, my beautiful readers, I see we are feeling the love! Yes!

Thanks so much for the kind words, everyone. You make me feel all warm and fuzzy. (And Jon, I love you so much. Neruda. You sure do know your wife well!)

BTW, Yak, you have just described how I feel about YOU.

Everyone should check out Petrea's post today. More poetry! Yay!

Love the poem. You know, I posted a sunset too, yesterday. Not so much romance though.
